A Lasting Legacy - The Lower Umpqua Hospital Foundation

Lower Umpqua Hospital is important to each and every person in coastal Douglas County. Donating to the Foundation decreases the hospital's dependence on tax revenues and ensures that the hospital maintains its current high level of health care. Participate in our "Tree of Love" and "Family Tree" programs, or create an ongoing tax-deductible gift through our endowment program: either way, you're making a lasting and meaningful contribution to the community.

Tree of Love

You'll see our "Tree of Love" as you enter the hospital lobby. For a contribution of $25, a bronze leaf will be mounted on the tree to honor someone special in your life or to remember a loved one. Each bronze leaf is engraved in black and can include both the names of the honoree and the donor, or one only.

Family Tree

For donations over $100, a myrtlewood leaf with your name on it will be placed on the Foundation "Family Tree." The amounts of donations are not revealed and "Family Tree" donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Proceeds from both the Tree of Love and the Family Tree are used exclusively for Foundation-sponsored hospital building improvements and equipment: no Foundation dollars are used for operating expenses.

Non-Specific Donations

Donations of any amount are always greatly appreciated and can be spread out over time if necessary.

Endowment Program

Another way to support the Lower Umpqua Hospital Foundation is to participate in its endowment program. We will be happy to send you information or to meet with you regarding ways you can contribute to the Foundation on an ongoing basis or name the Foundation as a beneficiary of your estate.
