News from Lower Umpqua HospitalTell-a-Nurse Discontinued Beginning January 1, 2004, the nurse call line called Tell-a-Nurse sponsored by Lower Umpqua Hospital will be discontinued until further notice. Tell-a-Nurse provided local residents the opportunity to talk to a nurse during evening, weekend and holiday hours when doctor's offices were closed. Started in October 1998, Tell-a-Nurse regularly responded to 50-60 calls per month. Recently, calls fell to about half that number. Hospital administration decided to suspend the service and evaluate whether it should be continued in the future. If you have comments about Tell-a-Nurse, please direct them to Delaine Humphreys at 271-9700.
