News from Lower Umpqua HospitalNew Surgical Equipment Enhances Quality Care Jeff Snyder RN, Manager of Lower Umpqua Hospital's Surgery Department, is pleased to announce that the department has just purchased an entirely new state-of-the-art endoscopy system. This all-digital quality system includes a tower with monitor, and an image processor and printer so images can be recorded with utmost clarity. Six separate scopes allow visualization of the esophagus (throat), trachea (windpipe), and upper lungs, the stomach and upper small bowel, and the entire colon or lower bowel. This system gives our physicians and surgeons the same quality of equipment that anyone would find at a major medical center. Says Snyder, "All of the doctors have been extremely pleased with the performance and quality of this new equipment. The medical staff at Lower Umpqua Hospital is proud to be able to provide screening, diagnoses, and treatment of many different conditions in a minimally invasive manner for our patients." For more information, please contact Delaine Humphreys, 271-9700.
